What makes it carbon negative

Producing and distributing one pound of this coffee generates roughly 4 pounds of CO2. For every pound sold, a portion of proceeds funds reforestation in Ecuador's Mindo Cloud Forest. Over time, the trees planted through this effort are projected to remove a meaningful amount of CO2 from the atmosphere, contributing to a net positive environmental impact while supporting local ecosystems.

The reforestation work supports native tree species across deforested zones, providing habitat for birds, improving soil conservation, and helping to sustain water tables. The Mindo Cloud Forest Foundation collaborates directly with landowners to create jobs and rehabilitate landscapes, weaving conservation with community development.

Roasting, sourcing, and packaging

We source premium, shade-grown Arabica beans that are USDA Organic and Fair Trade certified. Cenfrocafe’s investments in grower education and processing infrastructure help elevate quality and consistency year after year. The beans are small-batch roasted at our Minneapolis roastery in a vintage Probat drum roaster, retrofit with modern energy-efficient ribbon burners to deliver dependable, even roasts.

Packaging uses fully biodegradable bags, reflecting our commitment to reducing waste across the supply chain. We also work with small, family-owned farms that may not always be Fair Trade eligible, yet still contribute remarkable flavors and stories to your cup.
